– Each country must find its own way of development, you can not just go and copy the political institution, not taking into account features of the culture and the organization of life in society, - said the famous French politician and economist, former director of the International Monetary Fund Dominique Strauss-Kahn, speaking at the opening plenary session of the Moscow Economic Forum "The results of the market reforms without anger and bias".

Talking about market reforms in Russia 25 years ago, he noted that the International Monetary Fund tried to help the formation of the European institutions in the Soviet Union, but even its experts did not fully understand the features of transformation. And, perhaps, an attempt to create a European way of life in other cultures and was one of the factors of failure, suggested the politician.

Strauss-Kahn said that the EU simply had no other model of functioning, except for the market. And managing it is an extremely difficult question, because economic theories are not the laws of physics. Economics provides some information, but real life is more complicated than theoretical research.

Also the Participant of Plenary discussions stressed that Russian problem is the resources export-oriented economy, which does not work in modern conditions. It is necessary to develop a strategy for economic development and adapt its public resources - concluded the expert.
