The moderator of the round table was Christopher Konstantinidi - Head of state programs of the Ministry of economy of Krasnodar Region, Head of the Department "Management and marketing" of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

The cornerstone became the question about the need to restructure the existing system due to changes in the macroeconomic situation in the financial and consumer markets, caused by the geopolitical transformations. The event raised a number of issues dealing with a decline in domestic consumer demand, the unification of regions, territorial planning, as well as the limits of investment projects.
The experts noted that for the realization of the potential of regions, it is necessary to take into account its specificity and specialization, so you need an individual approach to territorial development, and should consider a diversified economy of the region in the context of specialization of municipalities.

Regional Development Strategy were formed in 2006-2008, and in the process of implementing them some adjustments were made, but as a rule, the planning has been divorced from the strategic management of development. As a result of the accelerated geopolitical transformations substantially change the macroeconomic situation and the situation in the consumer and financial markets, noted the panelists. Today, there is a need to restructure the system of strategic management of economic development, which should have built-in mechanisms to quickly adapt to dynamically changing environment.

Moderator of the section Konstantinidi noted that the strategy for the regions began to form as early as 2006-2008, and in the process of their implementation, were corrected. In modern conditions it requires restructuring of strategic management of economic development, which should be present operational mechanisms of adaptation to the evolving external environment.
The discussion came to the conclusion that for the establishment and successful functioning of a competitive system in the regions a direct involvement of all stakeholders is needed, from ordinary people to the business community. In addition, the strategy should be developed to take into account their interests.

Christopher Konstantinidi emphasized that competitive regional development management system is an important aspect that determines the competitiveness of the economy in the regions.
