MEF expert Andrew Danilenko about what Year 2017 prepared for the Business and Entrepreneurship in Russia

"Vesti FM" hosts - Vladimir Soloviev and Anna Shafran.

Shafran: Andrew, 2017 arrived. Does businesses expectations for the new year differ from the last one?

Danilenko: Firstly, of course, in the continuation of the same theme of the American, I believe that the most important question of the day - what will happen to the economy of our own country, and how we live, what level of life awaits us. Before New Year, I talked about it and continue to talk. Unfortunately, to date, we continue to be hostages of topics under the naming "the price of oil." Our entire economy is determined by the price of oil. The price of oil is high - all well with the economy. The price of oil is low - everything is with the economy is bad. We are now in a phase where all frantically prepared for the worst during 2016, all optimized, all done so to reduce their costs, expenses. The budget of the Russian Federation also cut, based on an oil price of 40 dollars per barrel. But today we have the price of 54-55 dollars. We all shrank, we were prepared for the worst, and the worst had not come, and there were even some small relief in the economy. I believe that today the key question is: are we going to somehow reform the economy or we will also continue to go with the flow sustainable? If it will be necessary to shrink we will shrink if it is not necessary - will not. On Monday, "Kommersant" published an interview with the new Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin. I, to be honest, never communicated with him face to face and I can not say that I know him, and his position. Moreover, I was a little alarmed, that he comes from the Ministry of Finance. Ministry of Finance in my association with the fact that it is necessary to cut, cut: we will not give, because there is no money. But based on the interviews, it is a lot of things reasonable and sensible ideas. First of all reasonable ideas that the price of oil and the central bank should not determine the fate of the country's economy. And what is the fate of the country's economy still has to determine the specific policy of the state in stimulating the real sector of economy and business. Generally, in this interview a lot about the business, about the support of the business climate, about the promotion of the business climate, in general, very reasonable ideas and words.
